Think Inside the Box

Now Includes acrylic template. The optical illusion of this quilt is achieved by giving each box definite light, medium, and dark edges. Careful use of these values will make the boxes appear to float. In the large scrappy version, I chose fabrics that reminded me of items that children might collect. Will you choose to make all of your boxes alike or make each one different? Perhaps you'll decide to do as I did--make duplicates of the boxes so that the quilt becomes a child's educational game of "find the pair." Have fun stuffing your boxes with your favorite things.

Off The Beaten Path is a medallion sampler quilt that's organized into five easy steps: Double Four-Patch Blocks, Flying Geese, Sawtooth Star Block in center, Nautilus Blocks & putting it all together.  Measuring 64" x 80", each step has its own cutting instructions for this skill builder design, beginning with cutting simple squares & progressing to half-square & quarter-square triangles.  Although designed to complement our new All-In-One Ruler, it is not required for making this quilt since alternate cutting instructions are included.  Off The Beaten Path moves step by step to a beautiful quilt you can really be proud of & requires only basic quiltmaking skills.

Friendship Junction is the beautiful result of a fabric exchange, the perfect way to add variety to your fabric collection.  Measuring 74" x 90", this scrap quilt is made from the traditional Road to Oklahoma block, using a combination of full & partial blocks.  Much of the visual interest comes from the border treatments, which turn an ordinary block into an extraordinary pieced quilt, while the bold stars are a secondary pattern that emerges when the blocks are joined. What do you get when you put a 6" cake stand basket on top of a larger cake stand basket? A Double Layer Cake quilt! Measuring 66" x 86", the recipe for this quilt is to mix together your favorite colors, stir in a garden maze sashing, add a dash of piping, decorate with a frosting of pieced borders & sprinkle with quilted stitches. No baking required - Serves generations!

Tall Trees

Available in three sizes, Tall Trees features three giant trees in the main body of this pieced quilt.  If you add a quick-pieced delectable mountains look-alike border & a couple of appliquéd bears, you'll have a generous queen-size quilt (90" x 108") in no time at all.  Fast & easy to make, pattern also includes instructions for a small quilt (54" x 72") that has two trees & a wall hanging (36" x 72") with only one tree.
